The residents are encouraged to utilize public transport, which are electric buses and free of charge, or drive electric cars. The community offers about 250 charging stations for the electric car initiative.

The community spirit is very much alive in Sustainable City. There are events, celebrations and social activities for everyone in the family, including meet and greet for new members of the community. To learn more about contributing to the community's environmental efforts, there are workshops and training organized. Sustainable City even offers jobs for their residents to help with urban planning and locally grown produce.

Sustainable City has 500 villas ranging from 3 to 4 bedroom - available in various styles that come with either a garden or courtyard. Studios and 1 bed apartments are also available. The community is divided into 5 residential clusters and within each cluster are 100 villas.

The Sustainable City community is about 16 miles from Dubai centre and unfortunately does not have connections with metro or bus. However, within the community there is a free public bus that runs electrically. A lot of the community have car-free zones to really encourage walking and cycling.

Fairgreen International School and Creakids Nursery are located in the heart of Sustainable City, following and teaching the values of sustainability. Other school alternatives are in the neighbouring communities of Arabian Ranches and Damac Hills - Ranches Primary School and Jebel Ali School.

As for higher education, they are a short drive away. Dubai International Academic City, Brighton College and Dubai College can all be reached within 25 minutes.

Within the Sustainable City community is Paediatric Medical Village which provides a new patient experience, bringing together a holistic approach taking into account various types of therapies (rehabilitative, therapeutic, preventative, medical and educational). It is also one of the move diverse children's facility in the region.

There is also The Sustainable City Country Club, which is a comprehensive rehabilitation hospital, providing services to all special needs, disabled, and autistic children. Other surgeries and procedures they provide include orthopaedic, ENT, plastic reconstructive, gastroenterology, and sports medicine.

For even more options, Emirates Hospital and Medcare Medical Centre can all be accessed within 15 minutes from Sustainable City.

Sustainable City offer a variety of different cuisines. If it's Middle Eastern food you're after, there's Khbz and Zaad. Thai and Mexican are also available at Tuk Tuk and Maria Bonita's Taco Shop and Grill. For your caffeine fix there's Spill The Bean and if you want a bagel to pair with it, then head over to Bagels & more.

Of course, you can venture out of Sustainable City and in 10 minutes you'll find McDonalds, Starbucks and Freedom Pizza, to name a few.

The Sustainable Plaza is located in the community itself for easy access for the residents. The 15,000 square meter is comprised of shops, restaurants, salons and offices.

A short drive away, about 20 minutes or so, you can find yourself at shopping malls with a bit more selection and luxury - Marina Mall and Mall of Emirates. As well, the Dubai Outlet Mall in Dubailand is located nearby with hundreds of brands available at discounted prices.
